Craft fair success

A very good day at Sandwich today in the grounds of St Peter's church, among roses and lupins.  For two hours I sold nothing and despaired and then!  My best craft fair yet, lovely shoppers, interesting stall holders who were very friendly and helpful.  As well as buying my stuff people took my business cards and asked about commissions so I hope there will be further work from today.
Next Saturday - The Red Lion at Wingham.  Fingers crossed for fair weather.

Craft fair today

It would be lovely to do a craft fair with a really high number of visitors.  I can't get a feel for the success of my goods when there are so few shoppers.  Lavender bags sold well and a cushion went, I made a profit, but not great.  So quiet I knitted a hat on a round loom (new and brilliant toy) almost entirely!

Craft fair coming up

Craft fair in St George's Hall Deal on Saturday 29th March.  Quite apart from worrying about selling, pricing, quality and desirability of my goods, I am also managing to worry about parking and finding my way round Deal by car!  Busy snatching time to sew, but also making a display stand for my hats. The husband has done the woodwork and I have made papier-mache heads.  It looks like a bizarre traitors' gate. They will be painted of course.
I have been making hats, lavender bags and cushions as well as a peg apron  (a one-off).  I have more ideas but not the time.  Maybe for the next craft fair...

More hats

One day the rain will stop, the sun will come out and we will all need hats!  My bucket hats are reversible and washable and I hope other people love them as much as I do!  Small is about 22", Medium about 23" to 24".

I find it quite hard to price things.  I am thinking £12 for cushions and hats, lavender bags from £2 for the individual ones up to £5 for a garland.  My notice boards are around £20.

More cushions, lovely fabric and first hat

New fabrics, ordered yesterday, came today.  +Terrys Fabrics are very fast.  I become so excited when I get new fabrics - it is quite sad.  I am trying to be sensible and order samples first.  I have only been disappointed once though. These are all pure cottons.

I made two more cushions with the Beach Huts fabric.  The back is the stripey fabric.

And here is my first bucket hat.  It is cotton, reversible and lined in green shirting weight fabric.  I love it!

More rain, more sewing

Two nautical cushions - the slightly yellow look is the electric lighting.  Two slightly wonky garlands of birds and hearts stuffed with lavender.  They have character!

New year resolutions

Everyone needs a memo/ display board!  Organise all those business cards and important notes, display postcards or create a mood board for the decorating plan.  A great house warming present too.  Every one unique and handmade.

Sort out the wardrobe and drawers! Lavender bags to hang among your clothes or toss into drawers.  Cotton fabric with ribbon loops and stuffed with Yorkshire lavender.  Or hang a bird and heart lavender garland in the wardrobe.  Put a slim sachet of lavender under your pillow to help you sleep.
